Desktop Compositions (2014-present) is an ongoing series of live video performances. They are built from collections and fragments of daily life taken with a mobile phone, building new narratives through the poetics of rhythm, arrangement and composition. Drawn to the incomplete, the unfixed, and the present tense, the series uses the loop as a tool for deconditioning. Like a word that loses its meaning after constant repetition, the work emerges from a type of unravelling. Collaging unrelated rhythms of motion and sociality, the work meditates on the relationship between movement and stasis, and what it means to go forward.
